Do I need a coil spring compressor to replace rear struts 2nd generation eclipse

No if its the whole shock. If your changing the upper mount then you will do for safety reasons.

Idn it's the rear shock strut as over some black thing with a bushing on bottom and a rod with a nut at the other end that's under pressure

If you are removing the spring from a shock absorber you are definitely going to want to use a spring compressor.
