rear strut bar interfering with the privacy cover

Ive seatched around and didnt really find a definite answer, but i bought the privacy cover for the rear hatch but it doesnt clear my rear strut bar ( i bought one off ebay about 2years ago). Now i havent checked to see if i can flip the bar mounts over so that the cover can clear, but what other solutions do i have for this? And also i need to get the tabs thats the string from the cover mounts on to on the hatch cover itself. Thanx!

....on the stock cover i had the same problem, and i just bent the bars on the hatch cover a little bit...didnt affect the cover much at all, but be careful

Oh ok i didnt know there were bars in the hatch cover. Ill give that a try, thanx a lot. Im still thinking about seeing if i can flip my strut bar mounts and see if i can get some clearance that way. If not, ill try your way TSI. Thanx for the info!

im pretty sure either way it is mounted, it will hit. i want to say i just took a hammer to the spots where it hit, and it worked fine. it didnt take much to make it work, so like i said, be careful.

Race cars don't need hatch covers, and street cars don't need rear (nor front) strut bars.

Different make bars have different clearance issues. Mine didn't interfere, some $15 eBay bar.

on mine, it was only hitting a little bit.

i looked at y friends, and under the hatch cover, the 2 bars that support it have a bead in the middle...that was the only part hitting...i hit it a few times with a hammer, and it was fine
