Pics of new strut bar

I hate that stupid cover. I really don't want to take everything back apart to just put that cover on.

To each his own, I guess. You'll hate not having it even more when something gets in there and cuts up your timing belt which, in turn, would most definately lead to complete engine failure. If you dont like the way that the dull, black, plastic cover looks, check out these:

1) Zaklee Corp - Performance Parts for Performance Cars
or
2)STM - DSM ENGINE COMPONENTS | PISTONS | RODS | CAMS | TIMING | OIL COOLERS | GASKETS - It's about half way down the page. I bought mine here. It's a horse a piece. Your choice.

In the end (with these cars), my friend, it's better to be safe than REALLY sorry.

Absolutely you have to protect the + terminal from accidentally touching that bar.

If it happens while the engine is running you kill your ECU.

Easy, attractive method: Go to Home Depot and get a short piece (6" +/-) of clear plastic hose tubing of the approximate inner diameter of the diameter or a hair larger of the strut bar. Slide it on over the strut bar so its positioned over the + terminal.

He's NT. I remember doing the same shit to mine, man those cars are POS's. :D

But seriously, OP, cover up that terminal area on the bar.

I just got a strut bar too, looks exactly like that. For my battery, I just taped the plastic cover on the positive terminal with some electrical tape until I do something more permanent, like rubber undercoating the whole bar or something

Oh, my bad! :D Thanks for the heads up. If you think about it, though, it's still possible that it could happen. In either case, it's not going to be fun:notgood:.

Hey,ill probably get flagged once again for posting but to me that bar looks like its backwards?i just put mine on a couple weeks ago and yea you should flip it around to clear your battery..Its just my opinion.. :hellyeah: btw did you get the rear strut too? LOL...nvm i had to look at it again, its alll gooood/but you should get the rear bar to accompany the front. And also did you get that from ebay?it looks like the set i bought.cant beat 26bucks for the pair :)

He'll have more to worry about than just killing his ECU. Like a fire. In the engine bay.

That bar is backwords it will clear the bat no problem when flipped around. Also timing cover.... has anyone really seen a belt get destroyed from not having the cover on? I havent. I have ran 3 cars withou out them and never had a problem. My 1g dosent have a cover on it now.. Drove acrossed th country. No problems.

My 2cents
