Rear Main Seal Leak???

So I replaced my rear main seal in my 1g and 1 of the 5 bolts broke off in the block, it is the middle bolt. I put a whole bunch of RTV sealer on it and am debating to drill it out and tap it or hope that it doesn't leak. I would think the the other 4 bolts would hold it good enough? I was just wondering if it's going to leak???

You should be able to take a small punch and back it out without drilling if it broke off flush. I would definitely get it out and not chance it.

There's probably a 50/50 chance it will leak. If it wasn't between the engine & tranny then it might be worth chancing it, but I wouldn't put it together like that! That's a ton of work if it leaks!

Did it break off flush with the block or is a little bit protruding still?

Alright that sounds good I'll try that. I was pretty nervous running it like that. Thanks

I was able to get a vise graps on it and got it out. Just need a new gasket now.
