Im building a motor and it has a good groove in the big rear journal that the flywheel bolts to. A friend told be about a metal sleve that slips over the journal and saves the rear main seal from being destroyed. Anyone have any more info on this? what the technical term for it is, anyone had any luck with one? and where to get one. Thanks alot.

yes they are common, its called a seal saver, they have been used for years on harmonic balancers and rear mains on small blocks.

I do not know if one is made for the 4G63

you will want to look for a place that sells Pioneer products

Parts Dinosaur, Crankshaft rear seal repair sleeve. For 4G63 engines. $ 8.00 and shipping.
