Rear Grinding

When i am driving my car will be fine but then i will go to stop and there will be a grinding coming from the rear of my car so i think its the brakes but then i keep on going and with my foot off the brake it keeps making the grinding/high pitch noise. my question is? anyone know what this is?

Did you inspect the brakes? Seems like the most obvious place to start looking.

no meat on the pads. metal on metal. replace your rear brake pads.

as it turns out i dont think it was comign from the rear, i believe it was my water pump grinding and i was tricked by where the noise was coming from because today i started to drip coolent from my water pump.. i think it was my water pump, pictures will be up in about 5 - 10 min to verify

If there's coolant coming from the weep hole, it needs replaced

it leaks only when the engine is on and warm, it stops when the car is off

Is that the oil filter housing in the picture?

i think so thats why i was wondering why coolent was leaking from the threads... yes the oil filter attaches to it
