I would take a strip of sheet metal that runs the length, maybe even the origonal piece and have a welder tack nuts where you want (I bet a welder would do it for $10 or $20) . Use some double sided tape to stick it where you want it. Small hex bolts would be okay, allen bolts would be better, and black bolts would be sweet.

Looks awesome man. I have been planning something similar for some time now. One day when I get off my lazy arse.

As for us performance minded people... If you can add something visually attractive that may "help" ( i know its VERY trivial, i did put it in qotes ) at extreeme speeds, that doesn't hurt performance, whats the big deal?

You know you want one.

Started on it already. Maybe by Sunday I should have it ready, unfortunitaly I have other things to be done so I cant work on it a whole lot.
I have no idea if it'll fit any other car besides my own. But I used all the stock OEM holes my car had except for one hole I needed to drill into the bumper which was simple enough. I'm pretty sure 97-99 Eclipses had the same holes in the same place but for anything else you guys better either do your research, or modify the diffuser with your own holes.

wow... very nice. I'd love to get one in carbon fiber, to fit the blitz kit... i'd be in heaven... the blitz is so popular, im surprised noone makes one. they make this diffuser for the TRD3000 kit for our cars... we need a diffuser for blitz rears.

Does anyone know where i can find one that will fit a 2g eclipse rear bumper?iv never seen one or anything just really curious and would love to find one, thanx!

Is this what your talking about?

I've always wondered about this product. My automatic assumption is that its solely for appearance and probably lacks any sort of aerodynamic testing.

c-wings carbon diffuser

Yea thanx for the help i'll keep my eyes open on e-bay, and about that carbonfiber air diffuser, i wonder if its for the supra conversion body kit only or if it would fit on any eclipse

alright i was getting ready to Purchase the rear air diffuser from c-wing when i was talking to the guys that carry it when they said that it wouldnt fit on a stock eclipse rear bumper... its ment for their wide body kit, (but im thinking of buying it anyways and try modifing it getting it customly installed, )... (hope it works )just thought id let you guys know

please post pics when its done. I'd like to see the turn out. if its nice I'll be getting one

Anything to flatten out the underside of a vehicle is going to reduce the amount of lift generated.

Topple doesn't sell those, unfortunately. I asked about it quite some time ago.

There are a few threads on underbody aerodynamics floating around..

Anyone else know of something else that might possibly make the back end look better(as in not so plane) along the lines as attaching to rear bumper?.

I don't know that anyone makes one, specifically, for the 2G DSM, but it is a good idea in terms of aerodynamics. There are some of us who have done some prototyping, but it seems that, if you want a rear diffuser for your car, you're going to have to find the diffuser element and fabricate it into your rear fascia.

By all means, go for it and share the project with the community.

I think you would be better off with just a flat panel from the rear axle back. There is a LOT of information needed to properly design actual diffusers that do anything, so universal kits really won't do much at all. You would be better off just not letting the air get in the bumper. You could do it with raw fiberglass or carbin fibre.

Or just punch holes in your bumper and do some grating sorta deal.

Sheet aluminum would be fine. Make a tmplate out of cardboard. Run the aluminum up as far as you want then angle it so it wont catch air.

Or take off the useless body kit

importfan.com makes one. I just recieved mine i try to get a picture soon. But good luck getting one i waited over a year for one! also check ceriousperformance.com they have a pic.

I too was thinking of making one...check this one out.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing. I would think that it would look really good on a DSM. 9520g, get that pictured posted soon please

You guys first need to decide whether you want to do this for the look, or for the downforce.

Building one for the first reason is easy, the second reason is much much tougher.
