You do realize those diffusers on those BMWs are more form than function, they do work, but not to some unbelievable extent. Look at the one Drew has on his Spyder, that would benefit you so much more.

Edit: Actually what would be really cool is if you could incorporate those wheel well vents, that would have a major benefit for you, so much air gets trapped in the wheel wells and is so turbulent, that the amount of drag you could reduce just by giving it a path to exit would be phenomenal.

Actually I'm not looking for something extremely functionable since I'm not planning on doing road racing, where they are actually functionable. On drag cars diffusers are not favorable. I'm running the exhaust system in the driveshaft tunnel all the way to the rear bumper. I'm only looking for a nice look appeal on the rear bumper.

for racing I'm gonna have the exhaust exit at the front bumper, and for street and shows I'm gonna make the custom rear diffuser...

I think I'll go with the BMW X5 style... looks easier to adapt to the OEM 2G rear bumper... Hopefully it wont be such a hassle to cutomize to fit the Eclipse bumper, we'll see...

Good choice on the x5...I hope you can pull it off.

not yet... first I gotta buy the BMW G-power bumper and adapt it to the 2G bumper... lets see how it turns out... Hopefully I can get into this diffuser project around april... If it turns decent, might go commercial with the idea... don't know yet...

Funny you should bring this up. I've been tinkering with a new paint scheme for my track car (road racing), and I needed a bit of black on the back, so I faked a diffuser. Heh.

I wonder if a small shallow one-off piece bonded onto the bumper would look decent.

The center exit exhaust looks dumb on these cars IMO. There is a guy running around town here with a dual center fart can setup on his cavalier. It looks and sounds horrible.

The picture is flipped. The steering wheel is on the right and the "Talon" on the back is backwards...

How about the 3sx diffuser for the 3000gt and stealth? Designed after the ferrari 360. Could be made to work for what you want.

I am buying a carbon rear diffuser and I think its going to look sick. I plan for it to look like this with a few custom bolts for it to stay sturdy but should be sick
