First off does anybody know of a company that can "beef-up" our rear diffs? From experience only, or first-hand knowledge: what brand rear diff would sustain 800HP/700TQ? Ive been looking for numbers, but i havent found a figure on how much the aftermarket diffs can take. Anyone know if the VR4 rear diff would be a good choice? i know of a couple that are 1000HP drag cars, but no info on their rear diffs, and im not on 3SI.org so i cant contact them. Help Please.

I believe shep is still on the stock rear diff and hes in the 7s so I dont think you need to worry about upgrading it

Driveshaft Shop doesnt seem to think that the stock rear diff will hold up. Ive asked Shep (or maybe one of his employees) about upgrading the rear before for a 600HP car and he seemed confidant that it would hold up. I guess I'll just have to e-mail him again to confirm it.

I would ask to see what shep is running and just do what he did because obviously it works.

Its going in my 96 GSX, and i dont know alot of people running around with 800HP/700TQ so i dont know how much it can take for sure. Id rather overbuild it and not break it constantly, than underbuild it and break it all the time. So if i could find out how much it could take, then i could decide whether i need to beef it up or not for my application. I sent an e-mail to shep earlier, so i guess we'll see in a couple of days.
