Here's what's going on I just had to change my transmission and now when I drive it it feels like the rear diff is binding up from 0 to 30 mph after that the car driver smooth and runs nice the car is a 94 tsi 5 speed any help or thoughts would be great full. Also I did forget to throw this in there but if you take off from a stop as slow as you can you don't notice the binding feeling but if you take off like you norm would you notice it and it only happens going forwards in reverse nothing.

Check your carrier bearings / center support bearing and while ## there check your Driveshaft and u-joints for "play". Either of these things cam cause improper drivetrain angle and could make things bind up like u say. And once the car is rolling the drivetrain will find It's center of rotation and should smooth itself out, or will be the opposite and get A LOT worse.

Thanks a lot man I guess I'll have to get back under the car again this weekend.
Just in case it's not that does anyone else have a thought of what it my be

i agree check your carrier bearings and the rubber around them if it is missing this will cause "driveshaft thump" vfaq.com has a good tech article on how to fix this cheap and without taking out your driveshaft! i fixed mine with some black silicone rtv, on the sides of your carrier bearings there are access holes fill in the carrier bearings with black rtv via these holes. worked perfect for me! but if you plan on doing this find the tech article on vfaq.com it is VERY HELPFUL!:hellyeah: if its not your carrier bearings/ yoke like other guy said, then i would try having your rear diff fluid changed and see if that helps at all, also when the shop changes the fluid have them check it for metal shavings and see if the fluid is burnt, this might indicate blueing on your rear diff! hope this helps!

I changed all the fluids when I changed the transmission I look at the carrier baring and bushings real quick when I was doing everything else but I didn't look to hard because before I broke my transmission I never had a vibrations coming from the drivetrain but ill defiantly double check everything again. But on another note I drove the car to work today and noticed a new sound when you get on it not saying down shift and stomp the gas. I mean just ease into it and it sounded like something was grinding from the front middle of the car sound almost like the xfer case is slipping because the car still pulls hard just sound like the xfer case is now f'ed. So if that's the case what all is needed to make it fwd because I don't have the money or time to fix it right now. I've done a little research and it sounds like everyone is keeping there xfer case on but I want mine to come off. Is all I have to do is take to xfer case off and the driveshaft and call it a day.

Never mind I found out all the info I need to fix the car for now thank you for you time and help guys

No just that binding feeling why?

I agree. Check all the bushings. I had a loud rear end thump and turns out my rearend bushings had corroded away leaving the read end to flop in the wind.

^ This is the exact reason why I asked. I had a related issue where a loud thump/knocking noise was coming from the rear of my car. The thing would sway side to side terribly bad in the snow.
