I bought I Cusco rear LSD and I have a few questions on the setup. I have read through various threads pertaining to the rear diff and LSD setups, but I still have a few questions. Right now I have a 96 LSD rear end. This has two different length rear axles as I understand. I want to know if anyone has experience with the Cusco rear LSD. It is sold for the EvoIII and I wondered if that car has the same rear diff as the non-LSD 2g DSM. If that was the case then all I would need was a set of non-LSD rear axles correct? Does anyone know if the Cusco LSD will drop right in the diff that I have right now? Do I actually need to buy two new axles, or just the rear passenger side one? Or is it the axles "joints" that stick out of the diff that are incompatible?

You need two non-LSD rear axles, these have the same external dimensions as the Evo III inboard joints. These are different to both LSD axles, although it's not obvious until they are side by side - the short LSD inboard joint is slightly shorter than the non-LSD part, and only half the splines engage with the side gears. You will rip the splines off after several Drag or ProSolo starts.

The Cusco should just bolt right in without any problems - make sure you shim the side bearings correctly, and not too tight. You're better off having a shop do this if you're not sure what this entails - the damage is quite extensive if you get this wrong. Have the Cusco set to about 70% locking for a good compromise.
