2G rear defroster always on

okay so I am solving all my wiring issues on my 96 rs and I noticed the rear defrost switch light is always on. When I push it nothing changes and when I turn the car off it turns off. Do you think the switch is just stuck on? I really do not know what else it could be. Would there be any other way for the light to stay on other than the switch itself?

The car is a frankenstein car too meaning it has a 99 GSX hatch

Are you talking about it's illumination light or the defrost on light? If defrost on light, check if you have voltage right at the defogger wires (on one side). If so, you may have a stuck on defogger relay or (hopefully not) a bad ETACS-ECU which drives the relay.
