So recently I had my boost gauge short out. I didn't wire it up and I haven't had any time to check out how it's wired.
Anyway, my gauge is malfunctioning. It only reads -10 psi 0-3 psi or 30 psi.
So when my gauge reads 1-3 psi after it comes back down out of boost it turns on the rear defroster. I'm not totally sure if it's actually turning on the defroster or if it's only turning on the indicator light but that's something I'll figure out when I get off work tomorrow morning.
I am a total newb when it comes to wiring. What the hell could he have wired it in to make it do this? I have a Prosport white/amber gauge, but the white setting has never worked properly. I'm not sure if it was wired into the dimmer incorrectly or he may not have picked a constant source or what, honestly not sure if that would even matter. But my gauge used to work perfectly with the headlights on.
Any ideas?

, that's interesting.... He probably wired it to the power supply wire on the defroster switch as a shortcut instead of a fused isolated power source from a more direct source. with the extra load on that wire it could have caused it to short out which could be causing the problem since that wire was not meant to drive any other auxiliary equipment. I'd say just remove all the wiring from your gauge and start over. If you need any help on the matter i'd be more than happy to help as i have pretty much rewired my entire dash myself. Good luck
