I went to replace my breakpads on my 2g GST in the rear, and when I used a C-Clamp to compress the piston, it ended up tearing the boot and leaking out all of the breakfluid after driving for a while. This is the 2nd time it's happen on that particular caliper. The first time it happened, I went to a recycler and picked up a high milaged one just to replace it. So I'm wondering 2 things. Are any of the 1g rear calipers the same as a FWD 2g ? Theres a pick=n=pull around here, and it would be alot cheaper if I went that route. Secondly, is there a technique you guys use to help prevent boot tear? I thought I was being extra gental, but I guess not enough...
