Alright, im trying to get my passenger rear axle nut out. I built a jig like the guy on vfaq out of a piece of 1/4" barstock. I put a punch of pb blaster on it yesterday, and I heated the nut itself with a butane torch for about a minute before tryng to get it loose. This bastard will not budge for the life of me. The drivers side came out easily after just kicking the breaker bar. Anyone have any suggestions on how you got yours out? Thanks! :D

Its on the rear end swap page. Im using a 1/2" breaker bar. I have one thats like 3' long but I cant fit it under the car. More muscle? I can put some serious torque on some shit. Im seeing those little star things im putting so much force on it. I have an impact gun, but shes not very strong.

Crap, the only pipe I have in this garage is PVC... im gonna go just get angry with it haha

Just got done removing all four axle nuts and after breaking a ½inch breaker bar, using heat, pb blaster, and all methods stated when using the SEARCH function for axle nut removal I finally went with the last method of cutting. After I cut down only one side of the the nut, preferably the top, I used a punch and 2lb sledgehammer on the edge of the nut in the direction of rotation. This will break it free along with opening the nut up more and there you have it. The last resort method of removing your axle nuts. Just be careful to not cut into your axle threads if your reusing them. Hope that helps.

It would be kind of hard to get in the axle cup and cut the nut on the 1g style that he is working on. As stated before, need more muscle, LOL.

Got it to break. Found a good angle with my 3' breaker, and it finally came loose when I started to pick up the suspension...

If all else fails, a big chisel and bfh will take it off too. Just be ready to go a local axle shop to buy another castle nut

Is t possible to upgrade the axle nut? This just looks a little weak, as there is only about 1/2" of nut that you can get a socket on.
