So I installed some Dsm graveyard 274 reground cams strait up and trying to figure out why the my vacuum is at -8 at 900rpm. I thought they would still have a vac of around -12 to -14 can someone that has these cams help me out

It is advanced three degrees. It took a while to study since on the pic of the purple gear in this thread the scale is on the opposite part than it is on the black cam gear in the link you provided....everything is reversed.

Ok so I did adjust my gears correct then. I turned my exhaust 2 notches to the left(Retarded), and my intake 2 notches to the right(Advanced).

Thanks for clearing that up Justin.

Tell me why Kelfords, HKS, GCS, Comp all have good vacuum when you throw the cam in. I haven't had any problems with the hks 272 regrinds but the 274 seems to be the problem regrind.

Yeah I agree. So far everyone i know with the 274 regrinds has nothing but problems

And thanks for clearing it up Justin! Its kind of confusing without looking at the actual cam gear haha I had it backwards in my mind, not on the car. Obviously i was looking at it the wrong way.

Like I said, if the hash marks are on the gear instead of the base, the A and R will be on opposite sides than if the hash marks are on the base instead of the gear....even though you're still turning the base the correct direction to advance the timing, which is the direction of engine rotation.

So Guy I got the gears from gave me the wrong tracking number and is being sketchy as shit so no telling when I will get the gears if I even get them at all. ..I used PayPal so ill get my money back if he keeps playing games

I hope it clears all that stuff up too, if not I am really going to be pissed about buying gears for nothing!

i'll guarantee you those gears are worth it! LOL My car runs so much better since I adjusted them. I haven't got to play with them since because I was installing my stm tank to rail fuel line replacement and my damn line broke off my fuel pump assembly. I hope to get that fixed this week.

So i go my gears yesterday i should have them installed this weekend and adjusted

Yeah bro I tried a couple settings. -4ex +2in , -2ex+4in , 0ex +2in, +2ex 0in , 0ex-2in they never once changed my vacuum so I am pulling them out Saturday putting the stockers back in and shipping them to john at Delta so he can regrind them to a 272

Maybe? But that was the only thing done to the car at that time... 1 hour before these cams went in it had -20 vacuum ...that's why I asked if shims could keep my valves open and john said no so he said pull them and ship them to me
