Two days ago, my car started idling really weird. It was at about 200 RPM and would climb and fall to 400 and drop and then it just wouldnt hold an idle. This was just after I had gotten off the freeway, after about an hour of driving. Today, I started it up, it idled fine, and when I got home after about an hour of driving, the idle was back down around 200-300 RPM. Could this just be bad plugs? I can't understand why it would do this when hot and not when cold.

have you tested your ISC
your BISS

done a vacuum test? boost leak test?

if not, do them and report back.

if you dont know what im talking about use the search, and goto vfaq.com

Through various tests, I narrowed the problem down to an electrical or sensor problem of some sort. I know all 4 cylinders are getting spark and fuel, and the MAF is working. I'm guessing that there is a short in the ISC because after driving it around, it will sometimes hold idle, and then other times not, regardless of the engine temp. That leaves me with two questions. If I were to buy a used TB from a junkyard, 1g or 2g, would it have the ISC and IACV on it, and if it did, would the 1g one be compatible, given it wasn't a 90? Also, my friend told me there is a site which sells ISCs at much less than the dealer, does anyone know that site?

I had a bad idle (like 500 rpms) and I cleaned the intercooler pipes and it did the trick! You should try that first. Could fix the problem.

Vfaq.com has a Detailed procedure for Testing the ISC.

make sure its the problem before you buy it.

mitsubishigraveyard usually has good prices on such tings.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'm gonna get on that today if I can and let you know how it turns out.
