I asked this guy about his rotors, and he said that they will not crack unless I absolutely abuse them like driving a race car or somethin..(his example). Does anyone have these and can confirm that they are a good buy.. These are not for a race car but a daily driver. He said that I check his feedback but feedback means nothing considering that most people leave feedback before the product is installed.. If you do have these, please feel free to tell me everything you think I should hear about them.. Also the title, I know he says the backs are AI and the fronts are Brembos.. since he had them machined do you believe they will hold up and not crack? Are they even real brembos? Thanks guys..

Regardless of if they are real or not, are they worth buying or is ANY machined rotor not worth it unless its manufactured as drilled/slotted?

Since he machines in the slots and holes, I'd be a little wary. How do you know they are precisely and evenly spaced and the depths of the slots are exactly all the same.

brakes are not a place to go cheap. i would not trust them, thats just me.

I think I would prefer to have brakes that will not crack under ANY conditions, whether I am beating the car like a rented mule or not. This is for sure one area where I would pick and choose my parts very carefully. :talon:

I bought some rotors from vendor on ebay and they have worked well for me I have had no problems with them at all but those are not the same ones that i bought. But i don't plan on doing it again. Im going to get the brembo's off an evo so i would go that rout instead. I would have done that in the first place but i was told before that they wouldn't fit

Are those Brembo rotors, they may be but they aren't factory brembo drilled/slotted rotors. If they are Brembo, they are just their std blank rotors & the company does their own drilling &/or slotting (& adds a big markup). Brembo does not offer a drilled & slotted rotor, they only offer rotors with one or the other. Like everyone has said, breaking isn't an area I'd cheep out on. I wouldn't trust an "aftermarket" company to do the drilling/slotting, I'd want it to be done by the manufacturer if thats the route you want to go.

Personally I wouldn't get either done to the rotor, if I had a choice. Drilling may be great for a race car thats trying to keep the weight down & changes rotors regularly but these aren't the same conditions you see on the street. Drilling is a potential to weaken the rotor & also removes mass, making the heat absorbtion less. Slotting worked great for expelling trapped gases back when that was what it was designed for but with changes in pad material, this isn't much of an issue anymore. A slotted rotor basically keeps the pad surface clean & in turn wears pads quicker & create more dust.

What ^^^ said.

I got mine from www.sportbrakes.com, they are Brembos that where cross drilled and slotted by sportbrakes. I love my brakes. :)

If I was to buy rotors again, I'd just get regular brembos rotors that are non-drilled and non-slotted.

Yeah i read that when i was looking up the process of doing it I'll have to call and find out how much those are, do you know by chance?
I had a set for sale, but they sold pretty darn quick. (I was able to get them because I'm in Japan but won't be here for much longer and cant find another set)

If I was to buy rotors again, I'd just get regular brembos rotors that are non-drilled and non-slotted.

Why do you say that? Why not slotted?

Damn Defiant and his scary ass link... haha.
Yea I know I shouldnt go cheap but when I searched the forum there were many people saying that they had never had cracking, then others saying that it would.. but yea I get it now.. after reading Defiants link I would rather just have brembo authentic blanks rather than taking the chance on destroying my car, or even worse killing myself.
