I've been reading into this a little bit and a lot of people are pushing the re-circ over the atmospheric BOV's. I was just wondering what's the difference? one is just quieter than the other, right?

im kinda new to this so don't bash me!

The way our cars are setup the ecu measures the air going into the engine as soon as it goes through the filter. This mean that the engine is expecting to get every bit of air that goes through there. If you have a blow off valve that is not recirculated the air blown off does not go back into the engine and they engine will do crazy things. Basically it will have lots of fuel and little air to burn it with, so the engine will want to stall out.

It seems as though it'll be more hassle than anything to have an atmospheric BOV. I'm gonna stick with the re-circ me thinks!

Thanks for the replies!!

If you like the bov noise. You can fab a metal pipe to replace the stock recirc pipe you have on. I've read that it made the bov louder, which make sense since rubber absorbs noise while metal reflects it.

Yes stick with the recirc choice unless you have a gm maft or standalone. I recirc mine with a open element air filter and it is plenty loud. Venting without the proper mods would be in mind considered "ricey". Do it right and the car will run like it supposed to.

also geting in intake tube helps make it louder...or getting a new filter.

when i 1st had my car, i had the stock airbox bolted upside down, (the top part that bolts onto the intake) so the filter would sit inside it....it opened up airflow alot and made the bov and spool alot louder
