Ok you guys will have to forgive me for some of the questions i am going to ask. Almost all i do is research. My wife hates me for how much time i spend on this comp. and a lot of my questions have been answered threw research on this forum. Which in turn is not helping my post count go up. and mainly bc i would like to see more experienced members opinions.So time for me to just ask a few that are a little more specific to my car and the build i plan to do.

Q#1: i would like to get opinions on larger turbos for dsms. I know i need to do fuel dsmlink ect. but as far as being a stock motor what you guys think. i have 2 turbos sitting in my garage right now giving me the evil eye every time i go out there bc there not under the hood of something. I have a GT35R (huge I know) but i think i am just going to sell or trade that bc of how big it is and i know stock internals wont hold up with it. And it just kinda makes me nervous (bc im noob) The other is a Precision SC61 that iv really been debating about... If i have not left enough info for you guys to give better answers please just lmk and ill do my best to help

SCM61 is rated for 20 MORE HP than the 3582.

Goals 350-400hp range, DD, weekend strip and autox (so not to much lag), Current mods: HKS F-con ecu, Evo 3 16g, huge fmic, 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch o2 housing, Tial Knockoff BOV, NGK wires, ACT flywheel, stage 3 clutch. Engine has under 150k miles

There are an untold amount of variables in selecting a new, bigger turbo for the car, and most preliminary questions depend on your goals. HP goal? Budget? Fuel mods?

Any turbo that isn't DSM flanged - More money to setup - New manifold, Downpipe, Custom Drain/Feed Lines, Turbo inlet pipe (depending on turbo placement)

DSM Flanged - Somewhat limited options, HX35/40, 16G, 20G (To name a few); But can still use some or all of the stock components.

forgot to mention the gt35r i have isnt the almighty garrett its the godspeed. and its brand new. Also the sc61 has a little shaft play.. i know of two ways to check for shaft play one is to push and pull the other is to wiggle side to side and this one is side to side. How bad is this guys??

Also is a HX35 good to run on a stock motor??

The HX-35 is perfectly fine on a stock motor especially for the goals you are looking for, if you are looking to ring every last bit of power out of it then I would say a built motor is in your future.

Caan't really comment on teh sc61 or the 35.

If you plan to autocross, you probably want neither. I get full boost (~25 psi) at, or around, 5k with my SCM61 (and relevant mods...in profile). It's a violent thing, but I'm downgrading in a few months to bring this back to a fun street car.

I wouldn't mind swapping from the autox to the strip for a little while would be a nice change of pace. I really think i would like to get the HX-35 but i also have a guy offering me a trade. He has a Holset WH1P for my SCM61... What do you guys think??
