couple of q's about n/t's

at my work(i work in a shop) a lady brings in a laser and it has a bad head gasket. it is a n/t 4g63 laser and i could pick it up for probly 50 bucks.

what is the production date in 92 that they last put in the six bolt's?
what is the tb and intake many on a n/t is it the same as the turbo?
what are the differances in the short block?


are there any good reasons i don't want this car.

i plan to use the short block in a 6 bolt built up for my 96 talon awd, i already have a turbo 6 bolt head. other than that i plan to part it out if i get it.

I have been reading up on the same information as my brother bought a 91 N/T Laser for the suspension. From what I have found the only difference in the blocks are the lack of oil squirters and the need to tap the threads to mount the knock sensor. Of course you would also ditch the pistons but could keep the rods as they are supposed to be the same as the turbo 4G63 rods.

As far as the intake and throttle body... Not sure on those.

Almost forgot, May 92 was the switch to the 7 bolt crank.

yea you could machine oil squirters to fit them on n/t block. Intake manfiold is not the same, turbo intake manifold has an extra nipple for vacuum hose. N/t manifold will bolt up with no problems though, so you could use turbo manifold in n/t car, just plug the extra hole. Same with tb's, turbo tb has an extra vaccum hose nipple.
