radiator pissin' my fluid-check pic

well, this just started, looks like when i turn the car off and look under, my engine coolant pisses out of the radiator. it comes out one of the bottom corners, right by the drain valve, but not out of the drain itself, looks like a plug right next to the drain? any thoughts?

Is the drain plug on secure? Perhaps leaking radiator hose?

If it's your stock radiator, those things are plastic and tend to wear out over time. Mine did it, as well as a few other people I know.

Even if yours hasn't gone out I would still recommend going ahead and getting a new radiator from www.radiatorbarn.com so you don't end up on the road and that plastic one finally giving in. Their radiators are metal instead of plastic. Much more durable.

It might be due to your radiator cap. It's a simple cheap fix. Give it a shot and see what happens.

be sure to look at the pic i just uploaded, it is coming from the valve or whatever right next to the drain. everything else is dry.

It might be due to your radiator cap. It's a simple cheap fix. Give it a shot and see what happens.

Our "radiator caps" aren't actually on the radiators, but rather, on the remotely mounted thermostat housing: so that probably isn't the problem.

The area that you circled is just one of the radiator mounts. There is a post on the radiator that sits in a rubber bushing, which rests inside of that mount. There is no reason for liquid to be coming from the mount whatsoever.

Like Josh said, if you still have a stock radiator, then a piece of the plastic endtank directly above, or near that post has likely broken off, causing your leak. Radiator Barn provides excellent OE and performance replacements. I suggest their basic all metal units. They come with a lifetime warranty against failure and will likely take care of all of your cooling needs (even if you begin to heavily modify your car).

This should be a no-brainer.... Your radiator is old/worn out, And is now leaking... What should you do? Change it....

alright, ordered the radiator. is it an easy install? i'm going to attempt it. is there an online guide i can follow? i've searched but havent found much.

You'll need to disconnect the fans and remove them from the radiator (8 bolts - 10 min.). Then, remove the lower and upper radiator hoses by squeezing the hose clamps with channel lock pliers or vise grips (5 min.). Finally, remove the two brackets holding the radiator in (4 bolts - 5 min.), and lift the unit straight up. Make sure the rubber bushings in each of the mounts stay in place.

The install is the same procedure, but in reverse.

If you have an A/T car, then you'll also have to remove and re-install the transmission cooler lines (found on the very bottom of the radiator). This procedure is similar to removing and re-installing the radiator hoses, only, obviously, the hoses are much smaller.

I'm not sure how much fluid you have left in your system, but if the drain valve isn't working properly, then prepare for a flood of coolant leaving the lower radiator hose.

Be sure to fill everything back up with coolant/antifreeze afterward, and don't forget to reconnect the electrical connections to the fans.

I replaced my old OE unit (M/T car) with a Radiator Barn OE replacement, within one hour.

Ok guy. Do a search for radiatorbarn and lets see how many complaints you come up with against them. Their products are great as well as their price. Shipping only took a few days. The radiator is performing just fine.

Anyways yeah, good decision ordering a new radiator. If it's not already, it will start pouring out coolant, this happened to me on the way home from a meet a few months back, simple fix with a metal radiator

hahaha, honestly I don't remember the name of the place. Its some family run place in TX. If I remembered I'd tell you. I want to say it was called Peyton Performance... not possitive though. I got my roll cage from them too
