So i noticed that my fan won't turn on when it should. i know it works because when i turn my ac on both fans run but when i 'm idleing nothing. what happening is the senso messed up?

could be the sensor if i remember correctly the fans only turn on when the coolant temp gets above a certain degree. the sensor might also just be unhooked.

so what should i look for on the sensor? it was plugged in so why wasn't it working?

yeah both turn on when i turn the ac on and yes it's overheating or else i would care

Wow I must be blind. That was the main part of your first post... sorry..

How long do you let your car idle for? You could try replacing your thermostat with a cooler one. As,well check your ECU to see if it is throwing any codes. Code 21(If what I researched is correct)

EDIT: According to Haynes: Check the fuses(Under the hood? or kick panel?)

If the temperature gauge indicates Hot shortly after the engine is started, disconnect the wire at the coolant temperature sending unit(found on thermostat housing) If gauge reading drops, replace unit.

That may not directly apply to you but the sending unit, would control when the fan would come on,would it not?

well how should i check my ecu? and last night i let it idle for about 5 minutes and nothing happened with the engine temp but the fans wouldn't turn on either and i checked the fuse and it was fine

If you jump it with power from battery do they turn on? Do you get power at the relay? IF the fan turns on when you jump it then the fan is good. See if you get the the power at the relay, ir you do then your relay is bad. If everything checks out to be good check your temperature sensor.

Good luck.
