Okay so the thread i made yesterday didn't have the right questions.. I have a 95 talon tsi awd, i need a new clutch.. Im going to get a racing clutch.. I dont plan to have alot of hp in the near future but would like to have supporting mods that will allow me to later on. Assuming i EVERNTUALY go all out.. What clutch should i get now? i mean realisticaly id never have more then 350-400 whp.. also, im friggin clueless on what parts i need. The different clutches i saw on the site didnt say how much hp they could each handle, at least from what i saw. Ive been told Ill need a new flywheel.. Basicaly Ill be taking the parts i purchase to my mechanic and he will be putting them on (he normaly doesnt work with performance parts so I hope it wont confuse him, he said he could do it.. just no warrenty from him).. Ive been told the flywheel i get has to correspond w/ the clutch i get, i dont know if this is true. So basicaly im looking for someone to tell me what i need to do.. What clutch, What flywheel, and if there is any other thing that should be done while that area is being worked on. Will my mechanic have to mickeymouse the parts to work, or will they fit perfectly out of the packaging? Also, anyone know a fairly priced place 2 buy the parts? if i think of anything else ill add it, thank you everyone.

No you do not need a throw out bearing. Your kit comes with one. Also I agree with getting a SS clutch line and a clutch fork and pivot ball. The line increases your pedal feel and the clutch fork and pivot ball are just preventive maintenence. Paying a mechanic $400-$500 to drop you tranny to replace a $60 part that you could replaced while some one was already in there will make you very frustrated. Also there is not need to buy BG Syncroshift. Go to Auto Zone and buy Pennzoil Synchromesh. It is just as good and way easier on the wallet.

Anyways, good decision on the clutch/flywheel setup. I just installed the same setup on my car and could not be more pleased with it.

I called the place i ordered the clutch kit and flywheel from, had them add the ss clutch line.. Would any mechanic know what the clutch fork and pivot ball are? if so I would just like to have my mechanic order those parts from the manufacturer... make it ez on me yaknow, Also Ill ask him to use performance tranny fluid. Anything else i should worry about?

Ok disregard what I asked about the pivot ball and clutch in the last note, i just orederd a reinforced ball/fork.. total was about 80 bux including shipping.. now my biggest worry is what it said regarding having spacers on there to make sure the clutch can properly engauge/disenguage... My main concern is explaining this to my mechanic.. are the washers necessary? any feedback welcome, thnx :p

definately recommend act 2600 only complaint i have heard about them is some of them after beating on them for a while dont like to disengage above 7k rpm.
to test this you can just push in ## clutch put it in first and rev it to 7k and if ## car starts to move (only test on flat ground) then the clutch isnt disengaging completely.

i see... thanks for the tip but that still doesn't tell me if the washers are necessary :( im soo scared LOL, this is going to drain my account... it NEEDS to be done correctly the first time.

You can buy all you want, you can buy the extended rod ect... they are just little upgrades that either takes it easy on your daily driving experience, or replacing the weary old stuff that holds but its weary....

Dont panic.

well as of now i dont plan to get these spacers.. I REALLY hope it doesnt cause any major problems :(
