so i have bolted up the trans, and i have mounted the rear roll stop and the main trans mount only, i have the 12mm bolt in the back so pulling the trans will still be easy at this point.. just a huge PAIN IN THE A$$ SO like the title says, i didnt grease the input shaft. i have a new evo 3 input shaft and new clutch disk. how bad is it that i didnt do this? i am most likely going to pull it and grease it for piece of mind.

EDIT: ^ just pulled off trans check this out related to post below

Also, how many bolts ACTUALLY go from the bell housing into the block, NOT including the little 12mm behind the starter? because i have noticed there is a little ear by the front roll stop that goes through a dowel, there is a blank one above that for me... i dont know if its supposed to be blank but there are no threads, i think this might be the bolt that they wanted me to put a washer behind on the skatter sheild. then the two bolts on the top of the bell housing, mine dont seem to snug in all the way, i hope i didnt misplace a starter bolt for that :s is there any other bolts im missing? the dowel one on the other side perhapse? also these bell housing bolts are labeled 7,8,9,10 is that signifigant to the order of which they are supposed to go? or are they just standard hardness measurements? if they ARE hardness measurements... do i have all the wrong bolts here? i know the two in my starter are 7's

here is a picture of what i am talking about i think i am missing a bolt hole like i see in other posts:

You should have just Pmed me haha. No but on your setup you will have 4 bolts that connect the trans and the block. The 2 on top, one up front by the roll stop that goes thru the dowel (there will also be one in that area that goes to nothing, the one that should just be backed up with a washer), and finaly the last bolt is a smaller one back by the starter that goes thru the dowel. be carefull not to strip that one out. Torque to specs.

okay that makes me feel better i have another image i'll upload the thing i i might have mixed up the starter bolts also! one is strippedish. how many washers are needed on the top left bolt?? i can get the top right in because it is a much smaller bolt, the other is much longer???

these are the only bolts i have that go to the block, and i know which are the starter holes the one pointing in the center of the flywheel is the 12mm in the back of the block

Since you have the transmission pulled, I'm going to assume you will grease the input shaft.

...which is why I underlined "read". Thread pitch is listed in the second sentence. You certainly won't find a 43.5mm bolt at a hardware store and plenty of people, myself included, would recommend OEM bolts. However, some from the hardware store can get you by temporarily.

Yea man the hardware store is just not going to have that strong of a bolt. Check google maps for a "fastener" store near your house and see if they have what you need. Or the best option I would say is to buy them from JNZtuning. Just get the part numbers from the ASA. But that also means waiting for bolts to come in the mail.

Glad your trans is there, that was pretty fast.

My local ace hardware sells grade 8, class 8.8 and class 10.9 bolts in stock.

That is impressive. Now finding the bolts he needs in 10.9 strength would be even more impressive.

Well maybe give it a shot at ACE, but I just get frustrated when they have like 1 out of 4 bolts I need.

i think i really only need a second U bolt. :) im gonna grab my current one and see if they do. if they have two ill get two. and lucky for me ACE is a 2 minute walk :)

they have nothing hardened in metric past an 8.8 sonthats what i used this hx40 sounds
so nice with an open down pipe:) i need to get my tune into play here. matt you good with ecmlink?

Hey bro, glad you got it all hooked up and working. I only know the very basics in ECMlink. I need to learn more. I read all I can about it, but there is so much to learn that it seems overwhelming.
