I have a 98 GST with a 2g bottom and 1g top. The head was put on a year ago and the car hasnt ran since then. I picked it up from PO and am putting it back together to figure it out.

Any suggestions as to what I should do about the first crank?

IDK but cranking a cold engine with pistons in a cylinder that aint moved in that long a time sounds like it could scratch the bore?

Should I pull the plugs and put a couple of drops of something in there......crank without the plugs in to try and lube it all up before I try and have a go?

Thanks!

Pull the MPI relay and plugs. You can put a few drops of oil onto the piston to help lube the walls up :sneaky:.

Then crank it a few times for 15-20 secs at a time.

Put everything back together and give her a go.

As I read my previous post it can seem somewhat confusing. Ill fix it here.
Unplug the MPI relay and remove the spark plugs. You can put a few drops of oil onto the piston to help lube the walls up :sneaky:.

Then crank it a few times for 15-20 secs at a time. Keep the spark plugs out while you do this so there is little resistance while you're priming the system.

Put everything back together and give her a go.
