I KNOW WHAT YOUR GONA SAY!!!! ...use the search, but i have, and i have found almost all the info i need from these forums, and RRE, But i like to be thourough and have solid answers before starting a project........now my question

OTHER than switching/wiring a CAS to my 2g harness, and cutting the 2g engine mount to fit the new motor, Once those are done, will the new 6bolt long block slip right in, and all bolt holes, hoses, plugs, etc be the same as the 7bolt was?

If not, please let me know, I pretty much have it down. But i REALLY dont want to run into any surprises on this project. Thanks A TON for the helpp!!!:dsm:

(the long block i am getting is a 90/92 galant/eclipse 4g63t *6bolt. Includes cylinder head, all timing componets, and oil pump. it has NO oil pan, valve covers, or manifolds, but i will use the 2g ones)

Sounds good, I could proly ebay one, or get one at a local Junk yard.

But everything else just swaps right...things like manifolds, hoses, any electronics...

Adding to my question: Will the 2G (98 GSX) AWD tranny bolt up to the 6bolt engine no prob???

You'll also need to switch all your sensors from 7 bolt over to the 6 bolt. OBDI vs. OBDII

What intake/head combo are you going with?

do all the sensors need switched over? im about to do the 6botl in mine but the 2g i bought didnt have a head on it. he gave me the intake pressure sensor and the power transistor. i have the block which he wants back once i pull it but i know i need to keep the belts and accessories and brackets.

ill be using my 6bolt from a 91. planning to use my 92 blacktop cas, and the 1g waterpipe and tstat housing. basicly do i need to get the coolant temp sensors from him or can i use mine? i know the throttle closed switch on the throttle body will need tapped onto the 4th wire on the 2g tps.

anything else im missing?

Hmm. just doing 6 bolt swap but mine is 6 bolt g4c6 2.4 into my 2g. I used 1g tb,1g jm fab intake,1g head.I used 6 bolt 2.0 oil pan ,2.0 dipstick and dipstick tube.2.0 timing tensioner,tensioner pulley,idler pulley.Because I am 2.4 used 2.4 timing gears and 2.4 timing belt.
I moved my 2g sensors to my 2.4 6 bolt. Moved over oil pressure and oil light and used 90 style no water oil filter housing. I used 90 water pipe,1g therm housing,1 g therm moved ecu water sensor and think low coolant sensor from 2g to 1g housing. I used 2g
o2 sensor and 2g knock sensor there is hole tapped in my 2.4 for it.I got cas harness from rre, I got black top cas but have dsmlink so shoudn't have any problems with random misfire code stuff.
I used the 2g starter plate to mount the 2g starter.Trans bolted right up. You need to use a 6 bolt flywheel not 7. Otherwise clutches are same.
I moved over 2g tps and never heard of wiring the throttle stop switch..don't think you need to connect anything for that to work.I used 1g isc as 2g dont' work in 1g tb.
Used 2g power brackets on front for power steering, air conditioner.used 2g water pump pulley..1g water pump and cut 2g mount and 6 bolt timing cover as well.

I used a fluidampr balancer think they work on 1g and 2g cars.I think that is about it.
I have heard of some guys having to clearance the oil pain.I turned my engine over and it dont seem to hit the pan, mabye if you use 7 bolt pan on the swap or something or depending on your rods and rod bolts.I hope don't have to go clearance the pan but whatever I guess if it has to be done you do it with just a hammer.
I have to redo spark order as have a 95 ecu in 97 car.Just swap wires at coil think I read.

Almost ready to fire up the new 6 bolt just finished up some of the other mods in my sig.

Well then im not sure if i have a problem or not.....I have a 2g engine coming out, and a 1g long block going in! which ONLY comes with cylinder head, all timing componets, and oil pump. MY PLAN WAS: just to move all the parts from the 2g onto the 1g engine, other than the ones just listed...WILL THIS NOT WORK??? do i have to get all 1g sensors, housings, etc.???
