I am in the middle of replacing my slave and master cylinder on my 96 gsx. Just got the slave installed.

you see the shiny fitting on top of the master cylinder?? that connects to my slave cylinder at the bottom.

so here's my question: Shouldn't fluid squirt out of that fitting if I have the braided line off like it is in the pic? My clutch pedal is on the floor and won't come back up...

Well your clutch pedal is obviously going to go to the floor if there is air in the system like there is. Fluid should squirt out that fitting unless there's a lot of air in the master which would make it squirt air. Why are you concerned about what your clutch is doing without filling up and bleeding the system?

because I had That line running from master to slave already. I couldn't get it to work. I manually pressed in the pushrod on the slave cylinder like 1000 times and still have no pressure. also, no fluid is being lost in the reservoir

Did you remember to hook up the master cylinder to the actual clutch pedal? Also, perhaps your master cylinder rod is adjusted either too far in or too far out, check that out as well. Just remember to properly adjust the clutch per Jack Trans' video after you are finished.

yeah its still connected to the clutch pedal. Im thinking the secondary reservoir is messed up. I will check that tomorrow. other than that, I have no idea what may be the problem in this situatation

You will need to bleed the master. What is happening is that you are sucking air in thru the fitting when you pull the pedal up. It is easier for the master to pull air in to it than fluid. I would have someone put their finger over the tip of the fitting than pump the pedal a few times. Than with the pedal down have the release their finger and release the air. Cover the hole again and pump the pedal again. Do this until the air is gone and fluid is coming out. Make sure that you never pull the clutch pedal up with out covering the hole or you will just suck air back in.
