Ok... I'm looking to replace my intercooler with a FMIC, and was wondering if there is a kit I can buy/make to have the pipes go DIRECTLY to the FMIC, not route to the stock locations. I just want to remove all the old piping and SMIC, and get new piping and FMIC. It looks cleaner IMO and I like it more. I know the GReddy kit routes to the stock SMIC locations, unless there is another kit for different piping.

I also want to retain my fog lights (97 front-end conversion). Any intercoolers and kits out there that would allow that? Or, what piping parts would I need to put it all together.

Yes there are alot of short route fmic piping. Slowboy and AGP Turbo both have FMIC's that are short route which dont route the piping thru the stock locations. Or you can just buy a core and customize your piping.

TheSpeedFactor is coming out with a FMIC that is short route, and you can keep your 2gb foglights. Hope I helped a bit :thumb:

Check out the parts catalog and you'll find many options, sizes and different type of intercooler cores that could fit your choice, preference and budget.

right out of the bat I can tell you that http://www.slowboyracing.com/ and http://www.extremepsi.com/ have several good options, or if you're looking for a "Do It Yourself" kit there's always eBay.com where you can find intercooler and piping sold together or separetaly so you can design your own setup.

Hope this helps.

Believe me, you did. I'll look into getting their piping. Do you know if there is any way to fab up some sort of bracket or support to keep my 2gb foglights AND do the piping?

Any idea on when TheSpeedFactor will have that kit available?

Added : The reason I was asking, is because I was looking at the parts catalog, and couldnt figure out what type of IC had which piping. I'm looking for a nice big one and then just get the piping.... I'll look into buying the core + piping separately probably to save some $.

TheSpeedFactor's fmic should be out shortly begin that have been advertising it almost three-four months now. I guess they have been doing some more R&D. You can always call them or leave an email they have great customer service, speaking first hand.

Not really sure. I'm pretty certain it all depends on which core you plan to get.

man you squeezed that in there, even kept the fogs!?

whoa man - getting off topic - but that 1g FMIC setup is sickness... i'll be PM'ing you soon with some questions about it.

:thumb: noooice.

personally i think the hardest part was getting the fmic back far enough, then finding out that i still have to cut about an inch on each side because the piping wont let the fmic go back any farther, I could have moved it back about 2 inches if it wasnt for the piping...

you can see the new power steering cooler i installed to the right, got it off ebay, also if i wanted to move it back i would have also had to move the oil cooler, which i had planned on doing, but then once i realised the pipes were in the way and the oil cooler would fit either way, i just put it there instead.
