Quick Honing Question

If i just want to clean up the top part of one of my cylinders can i leave the pistons in? I realize that its a "might as well do all of it now" thing but i really need to get this running and i dont feel comfortable removing the pistons. Thanks

What are you trying to do? It's generally a no-no because any metal shavings left in the cylinders or falling down other places is not good.

Well i have some rust that is a little bumpy at the top of cylinder 1 and i just wanna get that smoothed out before throwing the head on and starting it, i have a picture if you want it.

umm dont do it if the block is still in the car, like brute said metal shavings in the motor are bad news.
