Looking to get my intake extrude honed but can't seem to find anywhere that does it. I live in SC. Does anyone know where I can get this done?

What does something like that cost? Would I be better off with a aftermarket intake?

I thinks that's the way ill go. Magnus claims that their street SMIM is proven to add around 40 HP at the wheels and its just over $500. And it looks a lot better than stock.

Extrude honing to get 4-7hp is a waste of time and money if you ask me. I was gonna post that first thing, but I didn't want to rain on your parade or make it look like I was just bagging on EH to try and sell you something. The Magnus unit or a JMF street/strip smim would be the best option for a 2g head if you ask me.

Thanks. Is there anything I have to change or do different with the smim?

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!! For the love of God take a dremel to the damn intake manifold. You can cut the hell outa it..I did it myself and it never cracked, leaked, nothing. I only got 5 extra hp but it was free.

Thanks. Is there anything I have to change or do different with the smim?

Move battery, coilpack, adapt harness, change IC piping, switch to NA throttlebody maybe, depending on IC setup..

In addition to what was said above you will also need a MAP sensor adapter. SMIM's also don't have a place for the PCV valve so it's a good time to install a catch can if you don't already have one. The cold side upper i/c piping will need to be changed since the manifold will sit lower. Changing the throttle body to a 1g turbo or n/t throttle body is a good cheap upgrade to do at the same time, however I don't see it as 100% necessary to complete the install of the smim. You won't have an egr valve anymore either so you may have to delete some vacuum lines. If you get one of the larger plenum manifolds you might run into fitment issues with the brake fluid reservoir.

Ok thanks. Right after I install the intake, I have a FMIC going in, so I will be repiping everything already, so that won't be an issue. Also, a catch can and battery relocation is also in the near future as well, so those issues are settled. Everything else, I will tackle when I get there. Thanks for all the great incite.
