Quick GM MAF question???

i got a 98 gsx with a jdm 6 bolt i have a eprom ecu and am goin with dsm link over the winter! Now my question is this! If i go dsm link and go with a gm maf 3" do i need a gm maf transulator?? if so what gen do i get it for? 1 gen or 2gen? I hope u guys say ya just get the gm maf and dsmlink and u dont need the transulatour that would be sweet!!!! Thanks!

im pretty sure you would need the MAFT so you have a MAF signal. And you would need to get it for whatever type of wiring you have for the MAF. If you still have wiring harness from 2g then i think you'd need to get one for that if plugs are diff. but I am not certain.

Yea you need the translator to translate the gm sensor out put to a dsm sensor output. The gm sensor has a different transfer function than the mitsu.

Ok thanks i was hoping that i wouldnt need the maft transulatour But i guess i do! So i just get the transulatour for a 2g right cause ya all my wiring is a 2G. righT!

Yeah, the only wiring with the translator is to the ecu and to the Gm. So if you've got a 95+ ecu and a 3" Gm then your good.
