quick blue smoke puff

whats up guys? i was driving to work today and its the first time i noticed that everytime i stop at like a red light, once i accelerate you see blue smoke coming out the exhaust. now i dont know how long its been doing that. im just glad its not the whole time im driving or anything. just that little particular moment. anyone know what it can be? oh and i know that blue smoke is oil being burned...

how many miles are on your engine and turbo? i have the exact same problem with my car and its got a little over 125k on it, and my turbo has 38k on it

Nah, its most likely you valve seals. I have the same problem, but mine only have 4000 miles on them :-(.

Sounds right, I would say valve seals too. MANY threads discussing this, do a search for bad valve seals you should find many threads with people having the same symptoms as you. Does the car release a quick puff of smoke after it sits off for awhile?

You better beware man, I was having similar problems on my 92 talon, It was only smokin when i came to a stop. Last week I was going home and my turbo tried to sieze up and it is shot now, So i would suggest you check that turbo out. I dont know if you can check your seals in any way, but thats what happened to mine. Just a thought.

Would it smoke any while you were driving too? Mine smokes at a stop, and when i'm driving, but i'm assuming that it is the turbo. Not 100% sure though.

Just pull the intake pipe off look at the inside if the turbo for oil, then check the side to side, and back and forth endplay of the shaft. If you see oil or the shaft moves a decent amount, then you have a blown turbo.

hey guys thanks for all the help. (hoping its not the turbo) , im about to do an oil change on it cause i heard that if its valve seals, a thicker viscosity would be better for awhile...but ill check the turbo today too.
