I just recently purchased DSMlink V3 Full with a 95 e-prom ECU. It should arrive in the mail today. I bought this package used. So my question is, if it is used, the ECU can still be tuned to what ever the previous owner had it tuned to correct?

My second question is, what would I go about doing if it is tuned to it? I am brand new to this tuning game. Is there any way to take the ECU back to factory settings? If so, how? I just want to be able to start clean. I plan on learning some of this stuff. I just know it is going to take time.

I apologize if these questions are completely n00bish. I know they are. I am just super new to the tuning and engine management aspect of DSM.

Thank you for your responses in advance.

You could reset the data on the ECU, Keenan. May have to ask Tom if there is a certain way that is recommended. Not sure if DSMLink allows you to do it from pressing a button. Also, hook the ECU up and shoot your serial number to them at ECMTuning and get on the link forums. You'll find many how to's and helpful posts on there to get away from your n00bish ways. :)

You'll want to reset all of the settings, especially fuel, timing, and airflow sliders. In the regular settings, you can right click on each of the tables and select "Zero all adjustments".

Make sure to check the Direct Access section as well. You can tell which tables have been changed by looking for the bold table names. Each DA table will have a button above which allows you to reset to factory settings very easily.

You can also try a hard reset. I just found this today, but have never heard of anyone using it. It will reset the chip to how it was shipped, which usually just has injector settings changed, but sometimes MAF settings as well.

You can also download a stock 2g config file and just save all to the ECU.

This should help out a bit.

Thanks Lewis. I am on the Link forum ;). Your response is appreciated.

Brian, thanks for your reply as well. Looks like I have more options than I thought at setting it back to stock settings. I will probably just end up downloading stock 2g config file and going that route. I don't know. Guess I will figure out when the time comes.

Thanks for your replies .

Why thank you Scott.
