Just got a used turbo, and im rebuilding it. my question is that i work at a hardware store and i have copper and aluminum tubing, can i use this tubing instead of the steel oil return line? i have the right size to do it with just wonderd if it would hold the pressure. any comments? the aluminum line isnt as strong and the steel one on it (which broke) but it does hold up to alot of pressure, 50 pounds in internal pressure. can i use this line?

I know for a fact my oil pressure is well above 50 psi at highway speeds. Also on startup it goes to 100psi or more. Not sure what the pressure is in the return tube though. I would just use the stock peice just to be sure no leaks. :laser:

thanks for the input. anywere where i can get a nice line from?
Slowboy racing has 2 types:
pushlock
AN style

Forced performance also sells one:

My friend has the FP line and it works good, no leaks. I have the AN line from slowboy and although it doesn't leak, and looks good it is a huge PITA to put on (put the return line on first and then bolt everything else on or it wouldn't fit and they used easy to cross thread aluminum fittings) and IMO the fitting at the pan should be a steeper angle as the line is kinked slightly, but it doesn't look to restrict flow..

Just go to baxter or nappa and ask for high heat, high pressure hose. Ace Hardware has some good ones, high pressure fuel hose. My aluminum return line broke and what I have on is from Baxter auto. Worked fine for me.... Just make sure you hose clap it tite.
