question on intake and other stuff...

hey guyz....i recently bought a 91 talon non-turbo. i want to install an cai and i read the threads on this site about it. i took the whole intake apart only to discover the the MAS is freakin huge! i was wondering if there was any way around this problem. i have an idea, let me no if u think this will work: replace plastic piping with aluminum, the buying a k&n filter and using the stock clippy thing that holds the stock filter in place(also holds MAS), then just not puting the old air box back on. im not sure if that will work or not but it was an idea. let me know. also i found a decent site for bodykits for us 90-91 guyz. its Fxdesigns.com. any way... back to performance...i have also been looking into turboing the talon. i dont really know what all i will need to complete this...i know the basic stuff but upgrading whise im not real sure. also looking into a nitrous system. how much shot is good on stock internals . i read 35 but that is barely anything. let me know if anyone can answer any of these topics....thanks

if ur gonna turbo it out, dont bother with the CAI.

I did that on my 92 talon n/t, using a K&N and the stock clips, but I didnt put the cover back over it. I felt a difference in the seat of the pants dyno, but nothing major, and I saw a slight difference in MPG.

You can do that with piping to replace the plastic intake, but I have heard many people say it made little or no difference. My opinion would be to try it and see.

hey thanks for replys soo quickly....the thing is im not turboing anytime soon. like next winter or spring...soo i was jes gunna doo as much to get power now as possible...anyone have a list of stuff i need for tuboing let me know...im also ordering Sneeky Pete nitrous kit by NOS. mounting the bottles down under middle console...shood be sweet. let me know if u guyz have suggestions! thanks

personally I think that the piping is just for looks because opening the air can and putting in a better filter is what gives you the power. I'm looking at a intake pipe simply for the looks.
