Hey, I was wondering where you can get the 1/4" ball for the mbc? I broke open a skateboard bearing and that was too small, so I was wondering where you got yours if you made your own. I wanna build one like right now, but I cant find the damn ball to make it!

edit...
found two possible leads... one was using plastic air soft gun pellets and the other was using the metal balls out of one of those little game things. my brother looks at it and goes "do you think these will work?" and i was like "i dunno... they look a little big." and he goes "alright. let's break it open" and he chucks it on the floor, and then we had to find all the peices. i was like "OMG."

so off to the hardware store i go. but do you think plastic would melt or have any problems in a manual boost controller?

do a search. friend of mine get's his MBC from home depot and i dont know what he get's. get what i got Dual Manual Boost Controller. flip up the switch and u got another boost setting.

ok so i just went to home depot because i had the balls and the spring at my house. i go to get the fittings and they dont have anything! i was looking in the plumbing section and i found stuff that said it was 1/4" fittings, but the ID was much larger than that. any other places to check at home depot? any other ideas? there was nothing at home depot that even resembled the stuff in the make your own mbc for $12 guide.

oh and trust me, i know home depot like the back of my hand. i just finished redoing our kitchen with my dad and there was multiple daily trips to that place, to like every isle. i went though all the brass plumbing fittings and came up empty handed.

ok, i got it all assembled but the spring im using is like half the length it needs to be. can I use 2 springs or is this no good?

I tried making a boost controller with some brass fittings, a small ball bearing, and a spring... yeah the boost was always wide open. I'm yet to see a working home made mbc or even tech guide for one...

yeah, i got the bearings and the thing is all assembled. tomorrow ill drill the bleeder hole and then go try to set it. i am running 2 springs instead of one because the one spring was like half the length it needed to be. we shall see how this works.

oh and the majority of the parts can be found in the air tools section. the whole thing cost me $8, so if it doesnt work, then it was an $8 experiment.

I know this is kinda a dumb question, and i'm not an idiot i just can't seem to find one of the parts required to make a MBC.

(1) 3/8 Metal Ball

If anyone knows where i can find this i would be very appreciate. So far i have all the other parts as stated in the article on this, i am just having problems with finding one stupid metal ball. Thanks

Ok there is no possible way you are going to find a paint can with a 3/8" metal ball in it. If anyone in here has actually used the directions that were given to make a MBC from the article please let me know if you actually got it to work becasue i can't seem to make any sense out of it. At this point it seems to me that its eisier to pay the 30-50 dollars from one off ebay than to make this 14 dollars peice of crap.

im not to sure about thoes ebay ones, mine wouldent work, i think the spring is too stiff but all the way out, i stopped at 20 but it would have gone further, yes it was hooked up right but i think some of thoes guys just want a quick buck.

the one that wouldn't work, r u refering to one that you bought or one that you made.

I made mine following an article, cant remember which one...it appears correct, but then again I cant hit boost yet for a mysterious reason WTF
