Question concerning DSM link

I am curious with DSM link could I also have a chip burnt for my base settings so that if I would lose my link configuration and I didnt have my laptop with me id atleast still have a base tune. Just curious if this would be at all possible.

What version of link are you refurring to? I have v3 full and it holds the tune until changed. It dont matter if the battery dies or you take ecu out.

ECM Link lite is what I was looking at. That is my main concern I just dont want the battery to die in a parking lot at some point then im screwed. I guess im just a worry wart

Dont worry it will be fine.

With ECM v3 light you will be good. It wont lose a tune unless you fry the chip. As I said it will hold the tune until changed so you should have no worries on that. My battery becomes dead if i dont run it every 10 hours. If my car sits for more than 10 hours I have a dead battery. But I never lose my tune

V2 would loose most settings or a tune (2g cars only) V3 and V3 Lite don't have that problem.
