Question Before I buy: AUTO GSX TRANS

I am looking at buying a 2g GSX that needs some work. It has a bad motor and my only concern is that the transmission is bad. The seller keeps telling me it's good and I hope it is but I don't know for sure.
If I take the risk and it isn't I won't hear the end of it from my family if I loose money. I have a spare motor I will swap in it with a refurbished head. My concern is how much and where should I buy an AUTO GSX transmission if it turns out to be bad. I like sheps and jacks but I didn't see any AUTO trans. How much harder is it to take out the AUTO AWD trans than the manual GST trans? I hear it's tough. Also it has a stage 2 torque converter just put in so thoughts on that would be interesting and helpful. The seller told me it had an ssq bov when it has a greddy type s style bov as shown in picture. If I loose money there will be hell to pay so I'm being VERY cautious and asked the community.

Google ipt trans, i heard they have some great stuff for auto dsm's. Id give you a direct link but im on my cell phone, just google it, it will come right up. You could also find a used stock one to swap in too im sure. My previous two dsm's were auto, one n/a..other one awd tsi...and they held up great. Little clunky in o/d but who needs power with o/d on. No idea how hard it is compared to a 5sp. I had a shop do the 5sp swap for me, was about 500 to drop it and put the replacement 5sp in. Sucks, but i didnt have the time or experience with the trannys.

i would send jacks an email about the auto tranny. I'm pretty sure they did one in town on a 1g. you could always part out if its screwed.
