i just re did my timing. i was wondering if the belt is always supposed to be real tight, or does it matter where the crank is at? i just checked the belt and it was pretty loose. i checked the tensioner a couple times after i re timed the car and the holes lined up perfect. should i check the tensioner out again? did I not pull the cams where they are supposed to go? the only cam i moved to put the belt on was the exhuast cam. someone let me know about the belt, and if i did the timing wrong.

Did you follow all of these steps?

Belt tension is very important. The tensioner is intended to take up any excess slack. If it's not properly set, that belt will jump. Make sure you're moving the tensioner wheel the right direction so it can hold its tension when you pull the pin on the tensioner mechanism.

yes i did this all correctly...should i re do my timing? will the belt be loose in some spots depending on where the crank is?

The only spot I have ever noticed my belt to be loose is betwen the cam gears. This only happens occaisionaly. I'm assuming it has to do with positioning of the valves and/or pistons. If I push on it the intake cam moves slightly. I just recently replaced all my timing components and water pump for the first time. The belt was not loose at all when I was finished.
