I have a stock 98 talon esi and i just bought an apc intimidator muffler and i was thinkin about cleaning the guts out of my catalytic converter. what do ya'll think? Will there be much of a horse power increase? sound any better? thanks

You can save big money, buy just buying a test pipe for around $50-$100 bucks. That way if you ever live in a place or sell your car to someone who has to meet Emissions requirements, just slap the regular cat back on. Or you can spend the big money and go for the High Flow cat. But I wouldn't punch it out, in my opinon.

or do what i did. since i dont need emission testing remove the cat and put a regualar pipe in its place 25 bux.

A test pipe is the same thing as a chunk of pipe except with nice flanges so you can easilly switch between that and a cat. If you can weld you can make one of these for quite cheap

i can weld so i'll either weld up a pipe or just punch it out cause it aint in the best shape. that way i can keep my flanges.
