Well I just bought some used suspension from another DSM'er on another site. Well his for sale thread said it was KYB adjustables and eibach pro kit. Well when I recieved the suspension I ended up getting KYB adjustables and the front springs are megan racing and the rear springs are eibach sportlines. Will this combo work? Or should I look into buying new springs that are all the same? Also this is going on a 1G AWD, how is a 2 inch drop on a 1G? I really wanted the pro kit, I'm thinking a 2 inch drop might be alittle to much.

I think it would really depend on the drop of the two springs. If the rears are 2" and fronts 1" it may look funny

2" drop looks good on a 1g but usually requires a camber kit for the rear and sometimes front

The Eibach Sportlines and the Megan springs are the same height, 2" drop on a 1G will leave you with very little suspension travel but its drivable.

Hey man you need to start using the edit button 2 up^^^... I see you answer your own posts in 3 threads... But a 2in drop looks good btw. The 1gs are alittle high stock in my opion.

According to MAPerformance they are both about a 2inch drop.

I'm just wondering if the different spring rate is going to cause any ill effects. I know that I would need an camber kit, thats why I wanted the pro-kit so I could get away with-out one.

I know a 2inch drop would look good, but is it going to be to low where its going to be a problem. 1G's really dont have alot of wheel gap stock when compared to a 2G.

Does anybody have any pictures of a 1G lowered an inch and a 1G lowered 2 inches.

Also is Eibach the only company that makes lowering springs that drop a 1G about an inch.

Anyone have a 1G lowered 2 inches? I'm just wondering if its to low.

A 2" drop isn't bad on a 1g. It would look decent and you won't bottom out.

Well I was looking for a camber kit. Now am I going to need it for the front and the rear? Or is there enough play in the stock suspension. I know I'l most likely need a rear. Also is there a cheaper camber kit for the rear, the cheapest I can find it is like $180.

I got tein ss-p on my 1G and i lowered it enough not to bottom out and it makes the car look great since the back of the 1G sits so f%@ high as it is.

My cars lowered two inches and i have 19s on it in the summer time. I also have a bushur race front mount. with the car so slow its a pia going up some drive ways and what not

Thats what I'm afraid of I want my car lowered not slammed. I'm just new to lowering a 1G. I'm used to a 2G which is alittle different. Do you have any pictures of your car? Perferable without the 19's.

Do you have any pictures of your car? The ones in your profile look like they are stock ride height.

Now would you recommend a camber kit with a 2inch drop? If so, do I need front and rear? Or is there enough play in the stock stuff to get by?

Well to do it right i would say yes. once you lower a car you will never get a perfect alinment to get it CLOSE to perfect you should get camber kits for both front and rear. do i have it on my car? no i dont.

How is tire wear without a camber kit? From what I'v been reading it seems like the rear needs a camber kit more than the front. I'm not trying to be cheap I'm just wondering if its really worth spending like $200 on a camber kit. Where if the stock stuff can get my alignment somewhat good where I wont be eating through tires, I'd probally not buy one.

$200 for a camber kit sounds high. My car is lowered with H&R springs a little less than an inch and doesn't need a camber kit anywhere. Another DSM I had had eibach road race springs that lowered it a little more than an inch and I had camber bolts in the front to correct camber.

Camber doesn't wear tires nearly as much as toe does. As long as your toe is in spec, maybe just try driving around to see how much it wears.

If you're looking for a rear camber kit, check this out: DME Products Page

I've not used those, but have seen them mentioned quite a bit.

Yeah I'm just trying to decide if I want to run the sportlines that I have or go to a pro-kit. I'm thinking that a 2 inch drop on a 1G might be alittle to much.

yokotabrat how do you like your 1 inch drop?

The 1" drop seems good. I don't have as many ground clearance problems as when the car was dropped more. Plus I don't have the added expense of alignment hardware to get it back into factory specs.

If you're going for looks, a 2" drop looks pretty good on a 1g I think, but performance wise, anything more than 1" will probably hurt handling. Bump steer will get worse and the suspension travel (which is already pretty small) will get extremely short.

Yeah, when I bought the suspension I was told it was an eibach pro-kit. Thats the whole reason I bought it. Maybe I'l just sell these springs and buy some springs that will give me a 1 inch drop.

What was needed on your car to correct the camber/toe?

The car in my gallery doesn't need anything to correct camber. My old car needed camber bolts (one per side) that replace one of the factory strut to spindle bolts. Like this:
http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=18777&cat=927&page=1

They sell a +/- 2 degree one for a little more too. You can do the same by slotting your struts if you wanted to go that route.

Camber in the rear is adjustable to some degree, but if lowered too much you may need what I mentioned in the previous post. Like I said, though, neither of my cars have needed those. I dealt with the camber in the rear and didn't notice any wear problems. Just get the car aligned and make sure they get toe in spec and you'll probably be okay. :thumb:

Alright thanks alot for the information yokotabrat. I'm going to get rid of these sportlines and buy some springs with about a 1inch drop.
