I'm in the process of building my head with BC 280's. I put the exhaust side together the other night and noticed that all eight valves never close at the same time. I thought that no matter what the cam they we're all supposed to close at the same time at some point. I took a couple of pictures at the closest point of all of them closing.

This is Cylinder one.

Here is cylinder two at the same point.

Well I can tell you one thing. You WILL need to degree the BC280 cams. My intake cam had to be retarted 12* to meet the cam card, exhaust 8*. There is never a point where all the valves are completly closed. Something is always happining. 4 cycle engine, 4 cylinders.

Did you bleed the lifters prior to dropping the cams in?

:thumb: alot of people dont bleed their lifters i see it at my work alot people dont know you need to bleed hydrolic (sp) lifter, bleed the lifters if you havent already, and degree in the cams, you will most likely lose power if the cams aren't degreed in. what else is done to the head?

Nothing else is done to the head. The lifters felt pretty good to me but i'll double check them. I do know you had to degree the cam but i still figured that at some point of the rotation they would all close.
