question about going external wg.

Currently I have a 60-1 internally gated with a tubular o2 housing. Im experiencing a lot of boost creep and am now getting another turbo externally gated on the exhaust manifold. My question is can I use the same o2 housing? What if its an o2 dump? Thank you.

the o2 should be fine once its the same bolt pattern... and the dump would have helped with the boost creep ...

Your getting another turbo alltogether? What flange are we talking here T3 or mitsu? Is the tubular 02 you have a dumptube on it already? Give us more info.

Does this new turbo have a Mitsu exhaust housing on it ? If so then yes you can still use the Mitsu o2 housing. Just have your wastegate flapper welded.

Sorry for lack of info. Yes both are mitsu housing. A local wants to trade me turbos and his turbo is setup for an external wastegate. I wanted to know if I could use any Mitsu style o2 housing or would I need a certain type of o2 sensor since the wastegate flapper is welded shut. I have an o2 dump can I still use that or should I go ahead and get a recirulated o2housing? Does it matter?

If you keep using that O2 dump and you don't get your flapper welded shut, then it will just sound like you have a huge exhause leak since some of your exhaust will just be going out the dump tube.

Technically you can still use your o2 dump o2 housing on the turbo with the welded shut flapper. Since the flapper is welded shut no exhaust gasses will escape that dump tube, becasuse its separate from the exhaust part of the o2 housing. It will just look funny because you will have a external gate on your manifold and then a dump tube from that. So you will now have two dump tubes. Get what im saying ?

The internally routed version of the o2 housing will look better, but do the same thing as your atmospheric dump o2 housing. All your trying to do is keep the exhaust part of the o2 housing to escape to the downpipe into your exhaust system. Both will do that.

I get what your saying. I talked to the guy and he is offering me a Hybrid Connection Tubular o2 housing for 50 bux. It has a pie cut design but Im kinda skeptical about it because the center divider seems thinner than most o2 housings. I would just keep your O2 housing and reuse it. I would check your laws in Texas to see wheather or not you can dump your wastegate to the open air. If not you will have to have a tube make to connect the new wastegate exhaust back into the downpipe.
