im ready to get a datalogger, but i would like to know if this datalogger would be fine: http://www.dsmloggers.com

I see they don´t offer much support at all, but its a fair price, and i don´t think that more expensive loggers would be better.

Let me know what you guys think. :p

If you are cheap like alot of us dsmers, you can look into an ebay palm and run some freeware. You can pick up an m130 palm off of ebay for about 35-40, cable is about 10, and you have a complete setup for under 50 bones.

Where do you get the freeware? Will it log the same things as the regular software? And im asking for an odbII logger.

http://students.db.erau.edu/~szabafab/stein/ - From a fellow ERAU student. :)

Yes, the link above is the same software that comes with the dsmloggers.com kit.

No, just a regular logger and you install software on it.

If you are looking for a better program that is not freeware, go here: http://www.pocketlogger.com/index.php?pid=plobdii. For $125 you get the software + cable, and you can pick up a palm or any other compatible PDA from ebay. And yes, 2G DSMs are/have OBDII.

Dsmloggers.com is where I bought my m100; everything you need for $110, no shipping or tax. It gets the job done, and is very easy to install. Greg is a good guy, and will go through everything with you if you're not too familiar with loggers.

i got a package deal from eBay with everything included & installed for less than $100. it was easy to connect & operate the software.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8039901090&category=33598

it came with: palm III, hotsync cable, hotsync cradle, spare batteries, and the software MMCD (vers 1.5) preinstalled. the support site has all the info you need at: http://mmcdlogger.sourceforge.net/
odd thing tho, i was able to upgrade the software to latest version (1.8), but NOT from that site. i got it from another. anyway if you get it & want that latest version then let me know & i'll send you the file or find that site & you can download.

so far mine works like a charm. :)
