Question about ACCEL ENRICHMENT. Datalogger

"ACCEL ENRICHMENT (range of 0 to 100%)

This is the amount of fuel that is initially squirted into the engine during quick movements from the throttle. It gets its input from the Throttle Position Sensor. When the TPS voltage increases rapidly it shoots a little extra fuel in to help with the throttle response. Too much or too little will affect drivability"

My readings:

My datalogger is showing 0.0% nearly all the time even at WOT. It may sometimes (very rare) show like 0.4% and 2.8% but thats not at WOT.

So my question is.... What could cause this, assuming the accel enrichment should go to like 60-70% at WOT? Or is it showing 0.0% for you guys also?

The definition you posted is right on. If you read it it states that it is for quick movements of the throttle, it isn't related to rpm so taking a log of it at wot is useless if you want to see it move. You need to sit there at idle and blip the throttle(press it down and release it quickly) to use the accel enrichment. It's basically preventing the car from stumbling/stalling when your throttle is quickly opened, once you slow down the throttle or hold its position constant, that function is not used.

Don't have any idea about the problem, but take a look at the throttle position, Redman. He did blip it once, then again when he went to WOT. Should probably have shown *something* there.

Yes the car is slow. It feels strong up to 3500 rpm and then it takes a LOT of time to reach 6000rpm. I now I have boost leaks, a little from the turbo into the oil, at the throttlebody shaft seals (ordered but not installed) air is coming out of oil cap. I am planing to rebuild the engine after the winter.

My compression nr are 168, 164, 140, 158. Wet test at syl 3 gives 148.

But I am trying to find out if theres more I have to fix before I take the engine out. So I have some logs that I try to figure out. Like the accel enrichment. And that is more like a fuel problem?

That was a couple of throttle blips at idle, you can see the enrichment never went over 30. Accel enrichment is pretty much a set value based on conditions much like timing, it's not actual sensor data, just sort of a view at how the ecu is compensating for rapid changes in tps.

Yes but mine don't

My accel enrichment shows like 4.0% at the lowest tps value, not touching the pedal. My timing is ok, and no knock at this point of logging. No good throttle response. Can it be like fuel pressure? I have ordered a fuel pressure gauge but haven't got it yet..

I am sorry but I can't help anymore. I am not familiar with the MMCD, it is possible that it doesn't correctly display the accel enrichment or it may be a problem specific to your model year. As far as I know, the values are fixed so the only input that affects it would be tps and time. Hopefully somebody else will chime in with a little more experience.

I have just installed the the new version of MMCD... 1.8g and when I step on the gas rapidly, it show accel enrichment like yours!
