Question about FMIC's

ok, i have been planning on getting the Greddy 24R front mount but have been wondering if the $800 bucks(eBay) is really worth it, can i get a cheaper front mount that works just as well without the fancy name brand?? i know that the bar and plate design is better than the tube and fin design, but i also want a intercooler that fills up the whole air dam in the center of the 97-99 bumper, i dont want a little tiny one...no offense to anyone with them though

The GReddy is a decent FMIC, but not worth $800 IMO. I used to have one. I replaced it with a SBR FMIC for only $850 shipped and I couldn't be any happier with it.

I would pay $850 again in a heartbeat for the SBR.
But I would only pay up to $600 for the GReddy again....

Yea, the GReddy one has way too much piping. The SBR one is shortrouted...saves you like 4 or 5 feet of pipe. GReddy just likes to overcharge for the 'bolt on' characteristics of the kit.

I calculated nearly 8 feet savings over the confusing Greedy kit and about 5-6 over a normal side to side.

Oh yea I am rockin the SBR too. Love it.

ok, i am looking into the SBR....is it worth it to polish?? i am not worried about the piping but is it a big difference in appearance if the core is polished or not?? any pics of polished/unpolished cores installed would be GREAT!!

IMO your a freakin retard if you get it polished. You can hardly see the endtanks or piping.
