Question about ECU

U know honda have ecu called 2 step. when it rev, it goes 2 step when floor all the way, it sound pretty cool and they did that to show off. But i never heard dsm have ecu something like that. Dont be mad, i just never had experience and heard of one. Does dsm ecu have something like that?

It has nothing to do with showing off, it is there to be able to launch the car at wot and not be over revving the car. With turbo cars you can add the option to an eprom ecu or use dsmlink to do it. With your ecu that isn't available. I'm sure that with something like greddy e-manage you could do the same, but not with the stock ecu.

You can not use an eprom ecu in your non turbo car. The only ecu that works are the non turbo 420a ecu's and those are not able to be programmed. You could use e manage to do it (it is a piggyback) but that would be a colossal waste of money for something that won't in any way benefit you.

nah i wont use e manage, i look at the price and my jaw drop. i wont different ecu with cheaper than e manage. i going to need it because im rebuilding my second motor as turbo so i have time to think which ecu would be good for me.

E manage isn't an actual ecu, it just modifies the ecu's signal . You are going to want to run megasquirt or aem if you are going turbo. Some people use the stock ecu with a fmu or the hahn portfueler, but it is a lot better idea to go with the standalone ecu.

yes i was thinking about megasquirt. I never heard of aem so i dont know how well is it. Yes i will have turbo motor by next year. I never heard of standalone. Is it only for without turbo? is it 2 step?

Standalone is just a term used for an aftermarket tunable ecu.
