If I have ECU+ or DSMLINK, will they allow me to use a BOV that vents to atmosphere? I thought maybe those programs could change the airflow or something.

you can vent the bov but its not suggested you do so.
if you want to vent you need a VPC or go with a complete standalone system such as the AEM, Autronic, Motec etc.

Also, you can vent if you have the GM MAF on your Intercooler pipe closer to the throttle body than the BOV and you can vent, but you will need a MAF Translator also.

If you want to vent, you will most likely want the gm maf. You don't need the translator with the ECU+ and aparently, DSMLink will do the same thing in the future.

Just get a MAFT if you want to vent. Dont get ECU+... its too complicated to tune and is not needed if you are just looking to vent you BOV. My friends call my car a riceburner because of the 9-speed 2g from the fast + furious. Please dont vent and hang yet another ricer tag on a DSM. They can be so much more then a riceboat.
