Question about Blown Headgasket

Today I went to a shop to ask him about resurfacing my head when I change the headgasket and bolts and he told me that if im replacing i better get a new radiator as well and thermostat because the head stretching isnt normal and something had to of got really hot to do all that. Now I know what he said was true but if the hasnt run hot since I got it 6 months ago and it already had the blown gasket is replacing the radiator neccesary? What do you guys think? when I got the car it was stock and it hasnt been driven hard since then and its never overheated on me.

A lot of the time, blown HGs are caused by overheating (the head warps which then blows the gasket), and sometimes from modifications, or just old age. Anyway, if your car doesn't overheat, then the rad doesn't need replacing. You should replace the t-stat tho, its cheap and easy. He just said that yo should replace the rad because most of the time HGs are blown from overheating, so maybe he assumed that overheating was the cause of your blown HG.
